Minjoo Lawrence Lee

Lee works on growth of high-quality III-V materials on Si for novel integrated photonics platforms. Integrated photonics chips will likely be key to the scale-up of both trapped ion and cold atom quantum computing.

 

Professor Lee is currently working with UW and Atom Computing (through the NSF Convergence Accelerator program) on a new acousto-optic beam steering chip (based on III-V materials grown in my lab) for cold atom quantum computing. In a separate effort with Lincoln, I am working on integration of III-V optical gain media on a SiN/Si photonics platform that could ultimately be used for readout, initialization, etc. of trapped ion qubits.
