Quantum Steampunk: A Tale of World Quantum Day in Photos

World Quantum Day is a chance to celebrate all things quantum with the community. In this case, it's not just learning. It's experiencing quantum in action.

While the international World Quantum Day is on April 14, an estimated 200 people joined in on the April 12th event hosted by the Illinois Quantum Information Science and Technology Center, including students of all ages, families, visitors from surrounding cities, and DREAAM (Driven to reach Excellence and Academic Achievement for Males). The event included live physics and chemistry demonstrations, liquid nitrogen ice cream, UIPD therapy dogs, LabEscape, and a lecture and book signing with guest speaker professor Nicole Yunger Halpern, author of "Quantum Steampunk: The Physics of Yesterday's Tomorrow."
